What is cordovan, the diamond of leather?
The world's leading horsehide tannery "Shinki Leather Ltd" produces cordovan, a rare fibre layer that can only be extracted from the stern of the horse. It is a gem built on a history of quality that requires the delicate technical skills of each and every craftsman.

After a long period of maturing and tanning, the dense fibre layer that only exists in the horse's stallion is scraped out from the backside, and the leather is then aged and dried again, taking a total of 10 months to finish.

Also known as the "King of Leather" or "Diamond of Leather", its unique gloss and heavy texture are worthy of the name. It takes an unparalleled amount of time to achieve this lustre, which is unmatched by other leathers.
