West Coast crisp blue Processed to look and feel like it's been worn naturally for three years. The denim is processed to look like it has been worn naturally for three years. The denim is processed to look like it has been worn naturally for three years. The natural finish is a fading process that does not accelerate the oxidation process, giving the denim a clean blue colour. The natural finish has a clean blue colour and is very similar to the crisp blue of the west coast.
Modestly thick denim fabric Original 8oz denim made from Zimbabwean cotton rope-dyed in indigo and woven on an old-style shuttle loom. By using an old style shuttle machine, we are able to recreate the vintage look and feel of the time without being too neat. The craftsmanship is not mainly manual, the artisans are only seasoned, they turn the kettle to a low speed and process it by carefully turning it for 5 hours to avoid contact with the air.
What is
Gimpab Ecotton This is organic cotton of the highest quality, harvested by hand, one by one, without the use of any pesticides, at an altitude of 1500 metres in south-east Africa. The cotton produces a fine, strong, even yarn that is supple and durable.
What is Rope Dyeing As the yarn is wound onto the machine, it is placed in a dye bath where it is exposed to air and oxidised, giving it its colour. In this process, the indigo combines with the oxygen in the air to give the yarn its deep indigo blue colour.
Indigo has a very weak dyeing power and does not combine with the oxygen in the air to the centre of the yarn where it is difficult to dye, giving rise to a phenomenon called 'mid-white'. This creates the perfect contrast between the blue and white yarns that give the garment its character as it wears.
Exquisite puckering and vintage treatment Processed fabric and stitching for puckering, vintage treatment on collar and front, and expensive 4mm thick shell buttons. We are also particular about the parts and accessories. We use a limited number of sewing and processing factories in Japan, and the hidden pockets at the back of the hem, a Remi Relief staple, are still there.
