The fabric is a 100/2 broadcloth made of 100% cotton; the 100 twin threads are fine and supple, giving it a soft feel, texture and subdued luster.

The pale coloring is product-dyed based on the 48-cha-hyakumetsu (48 tea-hyakumetsu rats) cherry-rat, which originated in the Edo period (1603-1868). The dull cherry-red color with gray tones, combined with the luster of the fabric, creates an elegant look as well as a gorgeous one.
